A Game of Bowling
Bowling is a very popular game and every day more and more people are being attracted to the charm of this game because of the simplicity of it. But many people are getting frustrated soon because of below par return in terms of efforts put and fun gained.
The main reason behind this problem in my opinion is various myths around this game.
It’s an easy game: initially people think it’s a very easy game which involves picking up a ball and throwing it towards a bunch of pins. To a certain extent there is truth in such thoughts. But most of the people miss the fact altogether that like every other game there is a learning curve involved. Trying to bypass it or behaving like it doesn’t exist does not help much. So my advice will be take bowling seriously and learn the basics if you want to improve your game.
It requires a powerful and muscular body: many people hold this erroneous believe. It may appear to be a strong man’s game because the ball involved is quite large and fairly heavy. But that’s not the entire story. To tell the truth if you get your basics right and master proper approach, delivery and follow through you will find that the weight and size of the ball will not become an impediment to your high score.
Bowling alley is a good place for socialising: some people think bowling alley is the right place for having chitchat with friends and acquaintances. If you are used to that line of thinking forget about good score, because the game of bowling demands concentration and keen attention to the progress of the game.
